David Hare
David Hare, who The Times (London) described as “Britain’s leading contemporary playwright,” was born in St. Leonards, England in 1947. He wrote his first play in 1969, at the age of 22, and has gone on to write over 20 other plays, seven feature films, and five teleplays. He has been a writer-in-residence at the National Theatre in London, and has received many honors, including the BAFTA Award, the New York Drama Critics’ Circle Award, the Berlin Film Festival Golden Bear, the Olivier Award, and the London Theatre Critics’ Award.
